Jules Cochrane
Esalen Institute
Big Sur, CA 93920 Phone: (831) 667 2896 Email: juleshands@gmail.com
Jules Cochrane came to CFR via Australia after studying traditional
massage; ‘Touch for Health’; the body’s meridians;
Kinesiology; muscle testing; Chakra Therapy and Bioenergetics.
He certified in August 2000 following training with Harriet Goslins,
the founder of Cortical Field Re-education in California, USA.
CFR is a development of the Feldenkrais method that has integrated
many synergistic aspects of other bodywork and body psychotherapies.
While healing is an important objective of CFR, the interplay
of structure and energy, function and form offers the possibility
of moving from merely “feeling better” towards mental,
emotional and physical transformation. Jules practices CFR at
the Esalen Institute and is presently establishing an occasional
practice on the East Coast.
June Engle MD, MS
Email: englejune@yahoo.com
June is a physician who embraces complimentary health care and
integrates it with conventional medicine. She has been in medical
practice for 20 years. She is a graduate of the Stanford School
of Medicine and holds a Masters degree in Nutrition from Cornell
University. She is also a certified CFR practitioner and an apprentice
in Integrated Awareness. After attending two CFR workshops with
Harriet Goslins, June was so impressed with the results of the
work that she joined the training to become a practitioner. "I
have seen people heal both chronic and acute conditions very
rapidly with CFR work; it enhances the effects of many conventional
medical modalities and has effected healing in many cases where
medicine had no good answers. The holistic approach to working
with structure and function of the body while also embracing
the mental, emotional and spiritual aspects and patterning of
each individual offers a powerful modality for helping patients
heal their lives".
She teaches at CFR workshops and professional trainings. Dr. Engle is presently living and practicing in New Zealand.
Wendy Evans, PhD, MPH
Westminster, CO 80031 Phone 248-225-2419 Email: info@thewjegroup.com
Wendy Evans is a business leadership consultant specializing
in increasing client impact awareness and choice. Her life-long
fascination with movement and bones began in the early 1970’s
as a member of the UK’s Cambridge University Comparative
Skeletal Anatomy Department, aka the "Bone Room". Since then,
she has acquired degrees in anthropology, public health and
sociology; and completed trainings in CFR, Gestalt-based coaching,
and Social and Emotional Intelligence.
Self-awareness and self-management - or impact awareness - are
key factors in business and personal success, and people often
make unconscious judgments about each other’s integrity
and competence based on unconscious but observable patterns of
behavior. In her practice, Wendy integrates CFR with Gestalt-based
coaching, and Social and Emotional Intelligence development to
establish a context in which clients rigorously think through,
and connect their concerns with the wealth of information felt
in the body. Clients, including managers and executives from companies
such as Diebold, Cooper Tire and Sherwin-Williams gain skills
in navigating and mastering the interplay between verbal and non
verbal communication, structure and energy, and cognitive and
‘gut' level intuition. She teaches at CFR workshops and
professional trainings.
Paula Gordon
Gualala, CA 95445 Phone: (707) 884-3823 Email: paulamuse@webtv.net
Paula Gordon has been a health professional for over 25 years.
Having trained in and practiced a number of growth, healing
and spiritual modalities, Paula decided to make Integrated Awareness®
her primary focus. In 1990 she became an IA teacher and later
a Certified Instructor. Integrated Awareness offers tools that
allow for healing and wholeness through movement, touch and awakened
awareness. As human beings we encompass many different levels
of consciousness: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
All of these levels of consciousness are accessible through our
physical bodies. Restoring movement where it has been inhibited
and re-integrating parts of ourselves which have been separated
or forgotten is a major tenet of IA. Cortical Field Re-education
was a natural extension to Paula's skills. She became part of
the co-teaching team with Harriet Goslins, founder of CFR, and
assisted in the first professional CFR training in 1998. She
finds that IA is a natural enhancement to the personal exploration
done in CFR. Paula's commitment to personal growth and healing
through uncommon perception, presence, compassion; and touch
provides an enriching opportunity for life expanding choices
and well-being. Paula resides and works on the beautiful Northern
Mendocino Coast. She also gives individual table sessions and
classes in and around the greater San Francisco Bay Area and
is willing to travel to other areas upon request. She teaches
at CFR workshops and professional trainings.
